Stand on the outside of the door and look directly at the hinges. If the hinges are on your left, the door is left-handed. If the hinges are on your right, it is right-handed. Open the door while remaining on the outside. If the door opens into the room, it’s an inswing door. If it opens towards you, it’s an outswing door.
